We don’t know about her latest film Accident on Hill Road but Celina Jaitley created a lot of buzz when she was addressing promotional event for her new movie on TV channel Zoom along with her co-star Abhimanyu Singh and producer Nari Hira.
The film however is slightly under scanner for having intimate scenes and also drug usage but Celina is not complaining. “True stories inspire the biggest dramas and for us it is a true story. You can’t take away love, violence, love making, accidents and blood from a true story, ” she argues.
When asked how sexuality in Indian cinema and in our society has undergone a change, she replied, “I feel sex never changes. Sex is the same, like it was ten years ago, or during the Kamasutra days. Even now it’s the same. What has changed is that people want to be politically correct or diplomatic while talking on this subject today.”
Later, when she was asked about the taboo virginity issue, she boldly shot back, “Human beings are hypocritical! We all are. Myself included. I am going to call myself a virgin till I get married. As simple as that. Yes, I am hypocritical and every actress who comes here will say the same. So you got to take my word for it.”
Apparently everyone in the room including her co-star Abhimanyu Singh was shocked.
Celina’s character of Sonam Chopra in the film carries with it a tag of modernity which extends to bar lounges of five star hotels. It is during one of such parties that she gets drunk and finally rams her car into Prakash Shrivastava (Farooque Shaikh), who was simply walking on the street. Abhimanyu Singh of ‘Gulaal’ fame plays her boyfriend in the flick.
