Hyderabadi Damaad, will be based on Mirza’s life and the controversy surrounding her marriage to the #Shoaib-Malik
A small-time Bollywood filmmaker has launched a film based on Indian tennis player #Sania-Mirza’s life, according to the Mumbai Mirror.
The film, Hyderabadi Damaad, will be based on Mirza’s life and the controversy surrounding her marriage to Pakistani cricketer #Shoaib-Malik.
Mirza, who recently moved to #Dubai with Malek, is reported to have been upset by the news, saying she has neither been informed nor has her permission been sought for the film. “I think that a commercial movie based on my personal life is hardly relevant, but I hope that the concerned director will make it clear to his viewers that the film is merely a fictional account based on his imagination,” she said.
Starring Amar Upadhyay, Ali Merchant and TV star Debina Bonerjee as Mirza, the film was launched last week in Mumbai and will be produced by P.D. Garg and directed by Jaiprakash.
The film’s crux will be the drama surrounding Mirza’s marriage to Malek and intends to explore the circumstances leading to her break up with her former fiancé Sohrab Mirza.
“It’s a shame if the director is relying on distorted information he’s picked up through inaccurate media coverage,” Mirza said.
